Mileage formula
Mileage in kilometres per litre is calculated by dividing distance travelled by litres of fuel used. For example, if you travel 420 km using 30 litres, your mileage is 14 km/l.
How to get a more accurate reading
- Fill the tank to a consistent level before and after your trip.
- Reset your trip meter when you refuel.
- Use a longer distance rather than a very short drive.
- Remember that traffic, speed, tyre pressure and air-conditioning can affect the result.
